Joining & Visitors
In order to join the club you have to be qualified to 'Club Pilot' level by the BHPA. We are not a school, so we cannot provide initial training for beginners.
If you are interested in learning to fly paragliders or hang gliders then please see “The Sport” section of this site, where you will find further information about the sport and the main schools nearby.
Most of our sites are for members only. We have made this assurance in the agreements with the land-owners of these sites. This ensures that anyone flying on their land is properly trained, insured, and knows the rules and safety issues for the site.
Membership is very cheap – £10 a year, or £5 for a month for a visiting pilot.
If you are qualified and you wish to join then please contact the membership secretary via
UK Visitors
Most of our sites are members-only. We are happy to give temporary membership to any visiting pilot who has a current BHPA CP rating or above and current BHPA insurance.
We charge £5 for temporary membership, which covers you for a month.
The important thing is to Contact Us so we can help with site briefings and safety warnings.
Foreign Visitors
Most foreign visitors will not have BHPA membership and insurance, and so they cannot become full members of the club. However we have a special membership category for foreign visitors, which is free, and we are happy to give site briefings and any help we can to suitably qualified and insured foreign visitors.
